Description

On offer is my personal copy of this rare first pressing of Van Morrison’s iconic masterpiece. The front laminated flip back sleeve with Warner Brothers orange/black labels. Although there are no official sales figures for Astral Weeks in 1968 the orange label first pressings are considered rare and highly sought after by collectors. My personal copy, again for those of you who have looked at my other, earlier albums, is once again showing its provenance with my name on a Dymo tape label on the back cover. The album has been looked after by me for fifty seven years and I have on,y ever played the album with high quality cartridges such as Shure, Ortofon etc.
Having play graded the album I can confirm there are no pops, clicks or scratches and minimal surface noise. Recognised as one of the most influential and significant albums of the sixties it still sounds superb and I am happy to classify it as at least EX. The best description is the ‘open’ sound of the recording.

The front laminated flip back picture sleeve has been well preserved (please see photos) with natural fading on the rear cover. The spine is fully intact and legible. I have replaced the original inner sleeve with a modern protective one to look after the album.
