Description
This variant 1 pressing of the gatefold stereo LP from 1971 features the regular VDG band of Peter Hammill, Hugh Banton, David Jackson and Guy Evans with special guest Robert Fripp of King Crimson on guitar. The inner gatefold includes details of the players, producer, engineers etc. Track listings can be found on the pink scroll LP labels.
The LP has been cleaned, played and checked for sound quality on a Pro-Ject turntable with an ADC cartridge. There are some light scuff marks visible on both sides of the LP but there are no scratches or other blemishes visible.
Some random low level clicks are audible in some of the quieter sections plus 2 louder random clicks were heard during the long Plague of Lightkeepers piece on side 2.
An extraodinary album.
Side 1 run-out is stamped CAS 1051A-1U plus the very feint text BOBIL
Side 2 run-out is stamped CAS 1051B-1U
The original inner sleeve is in good condition with just a couple of creases and some discolouration towards the edges. The original outer gatefold cover is in very good condition with just some small wear patches at the top and bottom of the spine. This variant of the LP did not include the lyric sheet.
The LP will be shipped via Royal Mail’s Second Class Signed For service in a stiff cardboard LP mailer.
UK buyers only.
