Description
This is a RARE find...a vintage Folk Art Primitive painting by an unknown artist done on the back side of a 1929 Times Square reel #7 Vitaphone disc.
I know the disc is from 1929 - the painting looks to be just about that old. It features a tree lined forest with a river running over rocks at sunrise. There is no signature on the painting or on the backside.
The disc is 16" in diameter.
The painting itself could use some cleaning as can be seen in the pictures. This painting has some scratching of the paint as well as some paint being worn off in the same area. This can be seen in the pictures.
The Vitaphone disc is in poor condition and I don't think there is a way to save it from the amount of wear and tear it has gotten over the years. Especially the hole put thru the disc to be able to hang the painting.
