Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +21,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. • The gritty N.S.U. quartet came from Scotland, and issued this, their only album full of terrific acid-fried blues-rock in February 1969. Featuring a raw, crude production and dominated by distortion effected psychedelic guitar leads and gruff vocals, is the perfect companion to label-mates SAM GOPAL (feauturing LEMMY.)
  • "TURN ON OR TURN ME ON" by N.S.U. was issued only on the British STABLE label (same label as Lemmy's SAM GOPAL "Escalator" LP. 55 years later is lesser seen, highly sought and regarded as a lost hard guitar blues psych-rock classic -- yet sank without trace upon release in the summer of '69, and N.S.U. split soon afterwards.

  • The power-blues BIG sound full of energy, reminds of CREAM meets Ashkan... overall an air of mystery surrounds this album, and indeed, even the label on which it was originally released. DJ and percussionist Count Simon de la Bedoyere (aka Simon Stable) set up the Stable label in 1968, only to fold it a year later, but during that brief spell it released a handful of great albums. One of those was Turn On, Or Turn Me Down, the only album made by psychedelic blues rock band N.S.U. Hailing from Glasgow Scotland, and setting out their stall by taking their name from the first track on the first Cream album, they recorded the album over 3 days in February 1969 at De Lane Lea in Holborn, London, a cutting edge studio where Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd had also recorded. The only LP recorded by N.S.U. features glorious flashes of acid-fuzz soloing. The album features eight original band compositions together with their 8 minute version of the classic blues song "On The Road Again," popularized by Canned Heat. Having performed at the Royal Albert Hall to accompany the release of the album in July 1969, the N.S.U. band (and Stable label) slipped into quicksand obscurity...

                   CONDITION:
  4. The cover: rated: EX (excellent) Super hard to find in any condition, a final collection copy and about the best anyone can hope for. Normally a VERY prone to wear gatefold, this '69 original has no rips or tears as commonly seen. The front gatefold cover predominately clean, has only slight previous (careful) handling over the past 55 years, no less,The insides of the gatefold, near M-, the back cover is VG+(+) having light wear, not bad.  Furthermore, there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing  ...the insides of gatefold are question answers written in blue pen by the band, NSU, the way the album was manufactured!

  1. The vinyl: Rated: near M-
beautiful smooth thick/heavy vinyl with only slightest (cared for) previous use. Audio is enjoyable minty clean, should 'work' for anyone! Good luck finding this clean again! Both British Stable labels are clean
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
