Description
Here is rare original copy of Sonny Rollins Blue Note 1558 Vol. 2 LP. This is the 1st mono pressing with the Blue Note Records 47 West 63rd. St. New York 23 address and it was made in 1957. Both sides are 1950's modern Jazz and Be Bop classics with top musicians Jay Jay Johnson, Horace Silver, Thelonius Monk, Paul Chambers and Art Blakey. Even played on a basic demo turntable this recording is super loud, punchy, crisp, and clear and features boisterous drums, strong upright bass, magnificent piano tones and hot horn lines. It is another winner that I am listing this week and a must have for any heavy Rollins fan or Blue Note label collector looking for this hard to find LP. The labels are superb and bright blue have no paper loss and the print is bold and solid. The vinyl is very clean with only a few very light scratches and blemishes that do not affect the sound quality in any way. These two sides also have the most minimal if any surface noise. The cover is in excellent condition with only slight corner and edge wear and little wear otherwise. The high gloss protective covering on top has separated ever so slightly only in one spot on the opening edge but there are no rips tears or other damages to the cover. The spine is fully intact and secure. The back has some very ring wear and the original owners name stamped once on the top with the #'s 7X7 written in blue ink on the bottom right corner. I would rate the cover at excellent the Vinyl appearence at Excellent also with only very light wear. I am not a professional grader so I am being very very conservative in my opinion but I have this priced this one fairly according to it's rarity and condition.
