Here is an extremely rare original demonstration copy of Sonny Rollins Saxophone Colossus LP on the Prestige label #7079. Both sides are 1950's modern Jazz and Be Bop classics with musicians Tommy Flanagan, Doug Watkins and the one and only Max Roach on drums. Even played on a basic demo turntable this recording is super loud, punchy, crisp, and clear and features boisterous drums, strong upright bass tones and hot horn lines. It can't be beat and a must have for any heavy Rollins fan or Prestige label collector on the hunt for this incredible find. The labels have no paper loss and the print is still solid with the NOT FOR SALE stamp on the A side. The vinyl is very clean with only a few very light scratches and one blemish on the first song that does not affect the sound quality in any way. These two sides also have the most minimal if any surface noise. The cover is surrounded by tape on 3 edges but has little wear otherwise. The high gloss protective covering on top has separated slightly on the opening edge but there are no rips tears or other damages to the cover. The spine seems intact and the area under the tape secure. The back has some slight staining and the original owners name stamped twice on the top. I would rate the cover at very good minus the tape and the Vinyl appearence at Excellent with only the blemish and very light wear. I am not a professional grader so I am being very very conservative in my opinion but I have this priced this one fairly according to it's rarity and condition.
