Description

You are bidding for an original UK pressing of Visions by Grace, Robin Keith and the Adrian Hall Set released on the tiny Koala Records label (KOA 004) in 1975.

This LP appears to be virtually unknown and is seldom offered for sale, being one of a handful of obscure folk records released by Koala during the mid 70’s, including the super rare Xian folk LP by Cair Paravel – Some Other Morning

The female fronted Grace take up side 1 whilst side 2 features Robin Keith accompanied by both the Adrian Hall Set and Grace. The album combines a split of female and male vocals accompanied by simple predominately acoustic instruments on a collection of songs which include covers such as Vincent and Leaving on a Jet Plane along with a number of original compositions.

The full track listing is:

Sing Out

Vincent

Peace

Asekatali

Moonshadow

Dream World’s Rabbit

You Didn’t have to be so Nice

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Where have all the Flowers Gone

There is a Man

Understanding

The last copy sold describes this as beautiful acid folk with lovely haunting femvox vocals which is true in parts, but for a more realistic flavour of the musical content on this record, you can find an upload of ‘Where have all the Flowers Gone’ on YouTube.

Visually the disc has a few light marks when viewed under a good light, but is still in really nice collectable condition.

Audibly this is a small label release of relatively lo-fi recordings, but other than some light noise between tracks and occasional clicks or pops it plays great and I would grade it as Ex- overall.

The labels are clean with very little evidence of any spindle marking.

The predominantly monochrome (brown on white) sleeve is a little grubby, and shows some signs of age but is still a strong Vg+. It has a small tear to the rear bottom left and some biro near the label name on the rear upper right.

Please see the accompanying photos to fully appreciate the condition described.

Overall then I would describe this as a nice copy of a rare and collectable record which I would grade as Ex-/Vg+ (vinyl/sleeve).
