Description
Here’s a great present for a Bruce Springsteen fan – or maybe for yourself.
This is the vinyl, U.S. version of The Ghost of Tom Joad, released in 1995 by Columbia Records.
I purchased this record myself back in 1995, so the record has only had one owner.
To the very best of my knowledge, it was never played, because I’d given up my turntable by that point.
I bought it strictly with the intention of selling it someday.
It did sit in a box with a bunch of other records for all of those years, which seems to have taken its toll a bit. I specialize in books and artwork, not records, so the description below is my best attempt and I’ve used all 12 photos to show the details.
The cover is in great shape, with small bumps to the corners and some small (less than an inch long) faint creases down the spine. Back cover is pristine, although the “shadow” of the record is evident on closer inspection.
The picture sleeve has wrinkles and creases around the record itself. The record also pokes out a little on the sealed side. The edges show a little wear, which is evident on the black side.
A couple of small scratches can bee seen on the record, along with a little residue from the picture sleeve. On side two of the black label itself, there appears to be what looks like a dark pen-like doodle that is only visible on close inspection. It could have also been a factory defect. This is pretty light, inexpensive vinyl, but the fact that Bruce did it before everyone else was doing it makes it especially cool.
