Issued in 1960, Mono only 12 + 3 = 15 Hits (LP #310) is the fifth END Records various artists compilation. It's a mix of END/GONE artists and from other labels.

Founded by George Goldner in 1957, END had three major artists: Little Anthony & the Imperials, the Flamingos and the Chantels, a girl group. (Marilyn Monroe and Wilt Chamberlain also recorded singles for END Records.) In 1962, Goldner sold the END catalog and that of sister label GONE to Morris Levy of ROULETTE Records.

ARTIST NOTES
The Chantels' "Maybe" charted twice, in 1957.
The Dubs were a Harlem-based vocal quintet. "Could This Be Magic" was their second of three charting singles, "Chapel of Dreams" was their last.
"Tears On My Pillow" was recorded by the Chesters, but they became The Imperials just before the single was released. As it climbed the charts "Little Anthony &" was added to the group's name.
Not to be confused with the later MOTOWN group, the Temptations were from NYC.
Following a few personnel and label changes, the Flamingos came to END and immediately recorded their biggest hit, "I Only Have Eyes For You." In 1960, "Nobody Loves Me Like You" and "Mio Amore" both charted.
Jo Ann Campbell didn't have a charting 45 until 1960. She wrote "Wait a Minute."
Issued in July '59, the Shirelles' 2nd single, "Dedicated to the One I Love" is on the SCEPTER label.
Formed in Spanish Harlem in 1955, the Bobbettes were originally the Harlem Queens. Their first hit record, "Mr. Lee" was actually a slam against a hated schoolteacher, but the group's label (ATLANTIC) made them change the lyrics. The more honest "I Shot Mr. Lee" was refused by ATLANTIC, so the girls left for a minor outfit (TRIPLE-X).
The Channels were a NYC doowop quintet that recorded for END's sister label GONE Records.
