Description

I will ship 78's overseas, but ALL International and Canada shipments for 78 RPM records must be Priority Air Mail only, includes free insurance and tracking. Because of the fragile content, 78 RPM records will be professionally packaged in minimum 4" deep 13" x 13" box with stiff cardboard flats, bubble wrap and proper inside cushion material. Please, I will not skimp on packaging to lower package weight for less shipping cost. My goal is to have your records arrive safely and intact. Thank you for your understanding. Click on "Me" for additional shipping information.

Exceedingly scarce 1929 original female blues 78 RPM by Victoria Spivey titled Moaning The Blues b/w Telephoning The Blues. Hot sassy blues arrangement has a jazzy appeal. Victoria often recorded with great sidemen such as guitarists Lonnie Johnson and Tampa Red and trumpeters Louis Armstrong, King Oliver and Red Allen (No credits given to sidemen on recording). In the early 1920's Victoria played in gambling parlors, gay hangouts and whorehouses in Galveston and Houston with blind Lemon Jefferson. Amazing slice of historic Americana that is in dazzling near mint condition! Issued on Victor 38546, record has no flaws, no wear factor, no scratches and no blemishes! Label is near mint and record will be in heavy stock storage sleeve. Guaranteed as described and winner is obligated for shipping cost. All International shipping for this item will be Priority Air Mail only with free insurance and tracking, withhold payment until I forward invoice. Please visit my companion R&B, blues and related 78 RPM listings. Combine your wins and save on shipping cost. Thank you.

I don't mind rational inquiries and questions that are pertinent to my individual auction listings, but please, before contacting me with any question, read my entire item description and my auction related information. I will contact winning bidder, usually within 24 hours of auction close and provide shipping and payment details. Please, payments must be received within 14 days of my initial invoice providing total cost. I accept Paypal, but if Paypal is not a workable option for you, please contact me and other acceptable adaptations will be welcome. I do not respond to any nonsensical e-mails, to include requests for shipping cost (shipping cost provided, just click on calculate), and I do not accept offers to close auction and sell at Buy It Now. Thank you.

Currently all my sales are only through ebay auctions. I do not accept want lists or special requests, simply not enough hours in the day. thank you for your understanding.

COMBINED SHIPPING - MULTIPLE BIDS POLICY - PLEASE READ

Yes, I am willing to combine wins to save you shipping cost. When you win multiple items please wait until I forward you an invoice with adjusted shipping savings prior to makeing payment. Please, if you win an item and want to combine future items, YOU ARE STILL OBLIGATED TO PAY YOUR FIRST WIN(S) INVOICE IN A TIMELY MANNER, I will hold your paid item(s) and credit your paid shipping cost accordingly on future invoice. All combined win periods are 14 days and I have a limit as to how high a value is on a parcel. It makes much more sense to package two boxes of high end 78's instead of risking shipping them all in one box.

RECORDS ARE PROFESSIONALLY PACKAGED

I do not skimp on packaging 78 RPM records. I do not use flat LP mailers for 78's. If it is only one record or a combined number, all are shipped in new wide boxes designed to accommodate stiff cardboard flats, reinforced cardboard corners, bubble wrap and packaging materials. At times I can ship 78's with albums, but I prefer not to.

RECORD GRADING FOR 78's
Bargain lot items are visually graded. Individual auction records are play graded. I place emphasis on play grade, maintain the highest professional standards, do spot check play grading on all individual auction items and always provide an accurate visual grade and label appearance. I play grade on a quality component system with Ek-O-Kut turntable and a Grado Prestige 78E Mono Pickup Cartridge, diamond stylus and 2-3 grams tracking force. I always keep my grading simple and fair and will not subject my customers to a proliferation of meaningless grades. If a record plays between two grades I always apply the lesser grade, I do not create a grade in an attempt to articulate a borderline evaluation. I do not use Docks grading definitions, I find them confusing and far too blurred for individual interpretations that may create grading disputes between seller and buyer.

nm....near mint, minimal to no surface noise and showing no major signs of wear. General groove appearance is excellent to like new and record has no imperfections.
vg+...very good plus, showing some signs of minor wear with minimal extraneous surface noise. No major imperfections. Grooves may have minor scuffs or surface scratches, at times a slight grayness, especially appearing in the louder passages. A very playable and acceptable copy.
vg....very good, somewhat worn and mishandled copy with audible extraneous surface noise. Grooves may have visual scuffs and scratches, light abrasions from sleeveless existence. Surface noise is prominent enough to impair or overwhelm music. Still a playable copy.
I do not auction poor condition 78''s with cracks, deep scratches, digs, severe edge chips, closed grooves or severely warped. I rarely list poor condition 78's, but at times will if it is a rare item. Poor 78's will generally have a below 50/50 ratio of surface noise over music and may have cracks, deep scratches, digs, edge chips and flake, flutter or warp factor and are sold as is. I do not artificially gloss any of my records.
