Description
From the archive of noted James Brown historian, Alan Leeds. A rare orange label TK Records pressing of BrownStone 4202. The "A" side was originally scheduled as People 2505 when Brown's People label was still distributed by King Records. Before it could be released, James signed with Polydor Records and People 2505 was cancelled. Meanwhile, James had formed the BrownStone label with TK Records head Henry Stone in Miami. The first two BrownStone singles were initially pressed and distributed by TK Records before Polydor insisted they press and distribute the label. This orange label TK pressing was withdrawn and the commonly seen copies of BrownStone 4202 were pressed and distributed by Polydor with a new multi-color label design.
