About This Record. This is an original copy of a cool never seen first pressing promo copy of The Rolling Stones 45rpm on London Records featuring "Stoned" and "I Wanna Be Your Man" This was banned shortly after release. I think this promo label version is rarer than the stock copy, and MUCH rarer than the second pressing white label promo London Records script logo label version. And this plays just great; great proto psych fuzz guitar and stoned lyrics thanks to the Stones! A cornerstone piece for any collection for sure. Please see the details below about the vinyl, labels and everything else you might want to know.
PLEASE CHECK my Feedback which will show you my grading, Cover/Vinyl, of other 45rpms and LPs I have recently sold graded NM/NM (or whatever) and what the lucky people who bought them think of them and our experience. The photos of the labels or cover list the songs and any possible details about the labels.
Cover Condition: N/A; never was a PS or other cover. Please SEE all my photos; I did not take them for fun and frolic and they could answer any question you have.
Vinyl Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+) vinyl. Looks STRONG VG to VG+, but plays EX. No clicks. No pops. But noticeable paper marks and light meaningless scuffs. Must be some background noise in there but I didn't hear it except in the intro and exit grooves where no music plays. So VG+ grade.
Labels. Near Mint (NM) / Very Good Plus (VG+) labels. Unfortunately, "GR" wrote his name in pen under the title of "Stoned" on one side of the labels, and there is some ring wear on that side of the labels as well. "GR" musta been . . . Please look at my photos in case I missed something.
Inserts: Comes with a stock factory London Records paper sleeve that matches the label; most copies of this I have seen have the brown paper sleeve, but this is the sleeve that came with this when I bought this more than 30 years ago.
Packaging. I use sturdy carboard containers with real corners and pack in an MLP-1 oversize box with corner protectors, or a regular NICE cardboard box with at least two insert stiffeners, and I place neon stickers on the front and back of the package indicating “Do Not Bend” and/or “Fragile” or something like that to help facilitate a safe passage.
