Description

VERY rare Andromeda Strain soundtrack vinyl LP OST You are bidding on a VERY rare vinyl LP version of the Andromeda Strain original electronic soundtrack composed by Gil Melle. Rare early electronic music
This is the rare first issue Andromeda Strain Electronic Soundtrack LP, with Hexagon shaped record and silver foil cover. Only 10,000 of these records were pressed in 1971. Robert Wise, the director, requested that the record be hexagonal shaped in line with the germ from space in the movie's plot. The foil cover's very unique feature is a circle of folding petals designed to emulate a camera's shutter when properly refolded. Also includes an intsruction sheet on how to close the cover
cover condition: There are some light creases in 2 of the petals and the corners and edges have light wear. The bottom left hand corner is also cut (see pictures). I would rate this as VG/VG+
album condition: I dont like rating records "mint" but this is very close to it. I cant see any flaws or marks, and considering the "cut corner" of the cover ...it's possible the vinyl is unplayed. I would call this NM/M
Overall, I've never seen one of these on Ebay in better condition. A real find for any serious record collector.
