Howdy All,

 

What I’m offering today for auction is the following Columbia Brown Wax Cylinder:

 

ARTIST: Billy Murray

LABEL: Columbia 32488 (June 1st, 1904) 2 Minute

TITLE: Meet Me in St. Louis, Louis

VISUAL CONDITION: For the most part, this is an amazing copy of this rare cylinder.  There is a light scratch (see pic) as well as a couple of indentations that can be seen in the pictures and YouTube video.  Thankfully, mold has not found this particular copy.

AUDIBLE CONDITION: I'd say it's above average, playing nicely and as clean as some of my best wax cylinders.  A video of it playing is listed below.

OTHER INFORMATION: I’ll be sending this out in an Edison Cylinder tube as I do not have the original packaging for it.  Based on information from the book Popular American Recording Pioneers: 1895-1925, only a few Columbia titles were issued as Brown Wax Cylinders as late as June 1904, this being one of those.
