Description

Offering a RARE SET of 3 records recorded in 1952 by the CETRA RECORD CO.  Cetra is a much sought after record label and was an Italian company that produced opera recordings from the 1930's onwards.

This recording of "La Sonnambula" (The Sleepwalker) was first performed and took place at the Teatro (theatre) Carcano in Milan in March of 1831 by the renown Italian Opera composer Vincenzo Bellini.  This 3 record set is very rare and sought after.  The box is in very good condition and still intact on all sides (only a small amount of paper tearing in a couple of corners), HOWEVER, THE 3 RECORDS ARE STILL ENCLOSED IN THEIR ORIGINAL PLASTIC WRAPS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN OPENED, THEREFORE, ARE IN MINT CONDITION AND NEVER PLAYED.  All 3 still have their original sleeves with the Cetra name on them (see pictures).

On the side of the album box it has: Cetra - Bellini - La Sonnambula - Long Playing - LPC 1240.  The front of the box has: La Sonnambula - Di Vincenzo Bellini Lina Pagliughi - Ferruccio Tagliavini - Cesare Siepi - Orchestra Sinfonica di Torino della Radio Italiana e Coro CETRA - Dirige: Franco Capuana.  Incisione Cetra- Torino (Italia).

Please note: I am not sure if this recording is in Italian or English but the majority of the writing is in Italian.

This is a great find and will make a great addition to any classical record collector.
