Description
THE VELVET UNDERGROUND THE VELVET UNDERGROUND (closet mix version)
LABEL: MGM SE-4617 FORMAT: LP, Vinyl, Album
Visual Vinyl Grade: VERY GOOD+ Cover Condition: VERY GOOD+
COMMENTS: The vinyl has full gloss with very light scuffs that are neither notable nor deep. Just below an EXCELLENT grade. The labels are clean and bright with a few light spindle marks. There are silver pressure lines around the spindle hole with a few more on side 1 than side 2. The labels and spindle hole suggests that this LP has been played but with care. The jacket has no tears or splits but does have a small BB hole in the front upper left. There is some seam rub on all sides that is heavier along the bottom with minor fraying at the two corners. Both front and back have incomplete ring wear. The inner sleeve is not the original MGM. The LP has been placed in a high quality protective inner sleeve. The cover is in a heavy-duty poly protective sleeve. This will ship insured. THIS IS THE BMI VERSION "All Selections Publ. By Virpi, Inc. - BMI. Also, the catalogue number is on right-hand side of the label. Catalogue on spine is SE-4617 and SE4617 on the labels. THIS FEATURES LOU REED'S "CLOSET MIX", which in my opinion is the better version.
Play tested: The vinyl plays with some surface noise that is not constant. There were no pops or repeat ticks from scratches. No major lessening in sound quality. A great listen.
GRADING GUIDELINE
MINT (M): The record is in brand new condition and looks perfect with no surface marks of any kind. The record has likely never been played. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are also in perfect condition.
MINT MINUS (MT-): The record looks mint but bright light reveals faint marks left from decades of contact with the inner sleeve. These types of marks do not affect playback. The record may be never played. The cover may have a very small amount of storage wear.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have light wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. Noticeable surface marks are present and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover without any major defects.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing on the edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
I AM IN THE PROCESS OF LIQUIDATING MY COLLECTION OF THOUSANDS OF LP'S, CD'S AUTOGRAPHS AND OTHER MUSIC MEMORABILIA THAT WAS ACCUMULATED OVER DECADES OF BEING IN THE RETAIL MUSIC BUSINESS. NEARLY ALL OF THE LP'S AND CD'S WERE IMMEDIATELY PUT IN STORAGE AND HAVE NEVER BEEN PLAYED. ALL ARE GUARANTEED TO BE ORIGINAL PRESSINGS.
PROMOTIONAL LP'S: LP's marked as promotional almost always came from first pressings. Promo labels, cover drills, corner cuts, notches and gold stamps were a common way for record labels to mark and identify non-returnable copies given to retail and/or radio stations. The covers may be marked but the vinyl inside may be the best you can find if in high grade.
SHIPPING AND PACKAGING: FAST SHIPMENTS GUARANTEED. Shipments are processed the same or next business day after payment. Only the highest quality box and packing materials are used for PROPER PACKAGING to assure your LP arrives safely. If the album is unsealed the LP will always be shipped outside of its cover to prevent cover damage. For purchases over $15 a new inner sleeve is used to protect the original custom sleeve. Both cover and LP are placed in a thick heavy-duty poly outer sleeve.
COMBINED SHIPPING FOR USPS MEDIA MAIL: $4.67 FOR THE FIRST LP + $1.00 EACH ADDITIONAL LP.
