Description

 Here it is- The rarest of the original 1967 Velvet Underground & Nico's debut "Andy Warhol" LPs-
The absolute first USA pressing (Verve Records/#V-5008) including the "banned torso cover", gatefold jacket, and original Mono "deep-groove" LP with number-matching blue & silver "T" labels . This version was quickly altered after the threat of legal action by Eric Emerson, and few remain in existence.
This initial pressing has, by far, the finest sound quality- mastered and pressed as originally intended to be heard when produced. The represses and reproductions have nothing on the warm, lush, and heavy sound of this landmark first pressing run.

Condition: The jacket is nice overall- a solid VG or better condition. It lays perfectly flat with no tears, writing, or seam splits. The spine and edges are in nice condition with no fraying or splits. There is a fair amount of minor "speckling" ringwear and minor general wear from age, which is very common by design with these jackets. Someone with a steady hand could likely carefully clean some of the areas, but it is still presentable as it is. The banana has been cleanly "peeled" with no remnants left behind.
The inside gatefold graphics are in good condition with just a minor spot of discoloration from the aging of the glue near the top center.  The original Verve printed inner sleeve is included, with no splits or tears, just some light browning from age.
The vinyl itself merits a solid VG+ or better grading, and plays nicely. The original shine of the vinyl is still intact, with only some light, hairline surface marks- the LP plays clearly and nicely with absolutely no skips, or overwhelming clicks and pops. The very lightest amount of surface noise can only be heard in a few of the softest passages and between tracks- sounds great overall. The labels are clean and bright, with no deep spindle marks, writing, or issues.
