Description
You are looking at a rare original 1967 1st U.S. mono pressing of the Velvet Underground and Nico with the mostly unpeeled banana sticker on the front cover and the very rare torso censorship sticker on the back cover.
The LP and the outer sleeve grade VG- or low VG. LP was ultrasonically cleaned and placed in a new poly inner sleeve for added protection.
The LP has nice gloss and clean unmarked labels. It has a good bit of unfeelable surface marks that are better seen under a bright light. It has a very minor and subtle storage warp that does not affect play at all. I just want to be as specific as possible in my description and that is why I mention this.
The outer sleeve looks presentable. No major wear at all - no writing, no split seams, no water damage, no bending. Has normal edge, ring and surface shelf wear. Banana is very partially peeled and has a small portion of the sticker missing at the top. Does not include its original Verve logo paper inner sleeve.

Please listen to a rip of this entire album below to hear it for yourself before bidding! Please note that this is a compressed mp3 file and that it sounds fuller and more atmospheric in real life. I play tested it all the way through and found it to be an enjoyable listen. I would say that it play grades VG- to VG+ with most of the LP play grading around VG. It has mild to sometimes moderate background noise that absolutely never overpowers the music. Background noise is more noticeable in the quieter passages such as the opening part of track 1 Sunday Morning. Very nice pressing sonics. Enjoyable listen.
