Description

You're bidding on a very desirable double vinyl set of crazy synth funk from Cape Verde. In 1968, a ship loaded with keyboards and other instruments set out from Baltimore en route to Rio de Janeiro, but lost power and washed up on the small island of Cape Verde. As the only place with electricity was schools, they were distributed here, where kids with fertile imaginations started making mad noises the likes of which they'd never heard before. They grew up and started making sublime disco/funk sounds, and a whole scene was born and some of the greatest tracks are collected here. Includes booklet.
