¡EXPLOSIVO!

VOL. X

 (Various)

(All Songs Sung In Spanish)

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original very first MONO press released by RCA Vik Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1971 by RCA S.A. Electrónica De Grabaciones Maestras (RCA Chile), catalog number CML-2856, with hand etched matrix numbers CML-2856-A EB-CC in Side A and CML-2856-B EB-CD in Side B, with yellow/black RCA Vik Records labels, with white RCA Vik lettering. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“¡EXPLOSIVO!” is a compilation album series released only in Chile by RCA Records with the hits of the record company here in Chile and like usual in the period the cover is UNIQUE. Cover is made of an only piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle with sheets of paper as front and back covers attached to the cardboard in the mouth edge, so 3 sides are opened faking a gatefold cover and kept together for an outer plastic bag. As you can see, both front and back covers keep the same artwork, the word “¡EXPLOSIVO!” and the titles, written in Spanish only, of the songs included in the LP. In labels it’s the album title and tracklist written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters, translators and of course singers of each song. The songs included in this UNIQUE COMPILATION ALBUM are:

Side 1

1    VA CAYENDO UNA LAGRIMA – LOS IRACUNDOS

2    SI SUPIERAS, AMOR MIO (Se Sapessi Mio Caro) – VALERIA MONGARDINI *

3    NO HE DEJADO EL AMOR (Non Ho Lasciato L'amore) – GABRIELLA FERRI *

4    MUCHACHITA (Mendocino) – RAINBOW *

5    ADOLESCENTE TIERNO (DE LOS CHISTES ABSURDOS… Y POCAS MONEDAS EN LOS BOLSILLOS) – TORMENTA

6    PALMADITAS – LUISIN LANDAEZ

Side 2

1    EL MARINERO – LOS CUMANA

2    VIVA LA BUENA VIDA – JUAN Y JUAN

3    LAS COSAS QUE ME ALEJAN DE TI – VIOLETA RIVAS

4    SCABA BADI BIDU – DONALD

5    SI, MAMA MAMA – IL BALLETTO DI BRONZO *

6    QUIERA DIOS – BUDDY RICHARD

     * Italian singers and bands singing in Spanish

In this compilation LP you can find some Argentinian and Chilean artists, but the most interesting it’s that 4 Italian artists are also included and those 4 songs are sung in Spanish!!! In the case of Il Balletto Di Bronzo, the song included is “Si, Mama Mama” but as you can see in labels, in this record it’s misspelled “SI MAMA, MAMA”, with the “coma” in different place. Another interesting fact is that Italian band Rainbow sings “Muchachita”, the Spanish title for the version they did for Sir Douglas Quintet’s “Mendocino”, with different Spanish lyrics to original “Mendocino”, also recorded in Spanish by Sir Douglas Quintet. So, here you have the chance to get and own this interesting record with an UNIQUE COVER, MONO SOUND, UNIQUE TRACKLIST and with a great selection of 4 Italian pop songs sung in Spanish by original Italian singers, Valeria Mongardini, Gabriella Ferri, Rainbow and Il Balletto Di Bronzo!!! WOW!!! Another great FIND form this side of the world!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, clean and complete, with wear in all edges, more evident and I’d say severe in the mouth edge, especially in front cover, with some little rips and creases. The record is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, glossy and clean, with light scuffs and hairlines and some very soft scratches, hard to see at first sight, which of course don’t affect play at all. Labels are in EX- or EX condition both sides, clear and clean, with only minimal spindle hole wear and some faint marks of humidity. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant very soft crackles and some occasional light clicks here and there, more evident in song “Muchachita”, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, with Side A closer to EX- and Side B closer to EX. Overall, maybe not a record for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure a great record with still a glossy clean look, nice labels and great sound quality after about 50 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind this album has an UNIQUE COVER, it’s a MONO PRESS, it’s an UNIQUE COMPILATION ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE and with UNIQUE TRACKLIST of Italian hits sung in Spanish by their original performers!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
