MEGARARE and HARD TO FIND original full frequency range recording “FFRR” London Records very first MONO press released by London Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1966 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from London Records Inc. U.S.A., catalog number LLC-38471, with machine etched matrix numbers ARL-6785-3K 2N (“N” inverted) 8I MS A in Side A and ARL-6786-1K 2N (“N” inverted) 6I MS A in Side B, with maroon/silver “FFRR” London Records labels. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for fans and collectors of The Rolling Stones and UK pop/beat music from the sixties!!!

“14 GREAT ARTISTS” is a compilation charity album released in 1965 in UK by Decca Records and USA by London Records and we had to wait until 1966 to see this LP released here in Chile and like usual in that period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of two pieces of a thin cardboard with two sheets of paper for front and back covers attached (not glued) to the cardboards and kept held by a plastic bag which’s also part of the cover. Front cover keeps strictly the original US artwork with the pictures of all the artists included in this compilation, the text written in English only: “The profit from this record will be donated to the LORD’S TAVERNERS for the National Playing Fields Association, together with the royalty which has been personally given by each of these famous artists." And the London Records logo at top left corner. Back cover keeps the original design with the artists alphabetically listed at right edge, with song titles written in English, translated to Spanish, but the other part is totally different, it has the album title written in Spanish at top, the liner notes about the Lord’s Taverners written in Spanish only and the full credits about this Chilean issue at bottom edge, with “SERIE ESTELAR” and catalog number at bottom right corner. The importance of this record is obviously the song “Surprise, Surprise” by The Rolling Stones included, because that song wasn’t included in any album by The Rolling Stones in that date, it would be included in the US compilation “Now!” in 1965 too. In labels the album title is written in Spanish only and tracklist is written in English only, with full credits for songwriters. It’s interesting to notice that in Chile this issue has the same error you can see in original UK press, the song “Nothing’s Changed”, correctly written in back cover it’s misspelled “NOTHINGS Changed” in label. So, here you have the chance to own this great compilation with the song “Surprise, Surprise” by The Rolling Stones, with UNIQUE COVER and already known ERROR!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition, no ring marks, no rips, no blemishes, only some minimal wear and creases in the edges, more evident in corners, impossible to avoid with this kind of covers, the reason to downgrade the cover it’s the sticker of a shop in front cover. The outer plastic bag is present and complete, with the only “detail” that it was ripped in front cover to put that sticker. The record is in VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with light scuffs and some soft hairlines, which of course don’t affect play. Labels on both sides are in great VG+ or EX- condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear and a black mark that someone did to delete something, maybe a name. The sound is the best part, it’s in strong EX or EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise(surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some very light occasional crackles, which don’t affect the great sound this album keeps from the beginning to the end, most of the songs play in absolute NM- condition. Overall this is a great record in this MEGARARE PRESS, with a very nice glossy look, clean labels and still amazing sound quality after more than 50 years which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget the UNIQUE COVER and the error already informed!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
