This auction is for what I believe to be a first pressing copy of Uriah Heeps Very 'Eavy, Very 'Umble from my fathers collection which I am selling on Ebay. My research tells me that this is a very rare album to find in this condition and on the Vertigo label, This LP was only available on the Vertigo label for a short time.

He worked for Warner Brothers as a sale director so he often received albums which are mainly white labels or early pressings and some of them were never even played, I will be listing more over the next few weeks so keep an eye on my new listings for more music of the late 60s/early 70s.

The cover is laminated and in great condition with the only defect I can see being some slight foxing on the inside top left probably from being in contact with the other side for 40 years and being moved around as my Father moved from place to place. I think that this type of music was not my Fathers cup of tea so it seems unplayed with the labels being in lovely condition and the record looking very shiny. 

I am not an expert in this field but luckily I have a friend who has been collecting records for over 30 years and he has graded the records I am selling for me to ensure that they are completely accurate. He graded this lot as follows

The last character of the matrix on side B is unclear and appears to be partial.

The labels are clean and in great condition Side A has the catalogue number 6360 006 with the number 6360 006 02 underneath.

Printed and made in England and including the original copy warning ‘Copyright subsists in all Vertigo recordings.’ This was later to changed from ‘Vertigo’ to ‘this label’.

As I already mentioned I am not an expert in this area but I have tried to be as thorough as possible if there is any more information that you require please ask and I will be pleased to provide it. All records that I sell will be sent in record mailers with extra stiffeners to ensure they arrive in the same condition they were sent in.

Musicians: David Byron - lead vocals; Ken Hensley - organ, piano, slide guitar, mellotron and vocals; Mick Box - lead guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals; Paul Newton - bass guitar, vocals; Ollie Olsson - drums, percussion.

Brief Info: Debut album with its famous macabre cover and one of early titles from the famous Spiral catalogue. Like most all their albums, issued to scorn and hostility by the critics of the day, it’s almost miraculous how this band survived and actually thrived selling millions of albums. With one of the most famous and memorable reviews in the history of rock Melissa Mills of Rolling Stone magazine started with ‘If this group makes it I’ll have to commit suicide. From the first note you know you don’t want to hear any more.’ I hope she didn't go through with her promise as they turned out to be a very successful band!
