Description
Re-Listed With Reduced Start-Price
Very nice condition and scarce copy of the 1972 UK Bronze first pressing from Prog giants, Uriah Heep. Written and recorded in between US and European tours, it was released extensively worldwide in 1972 and has since been re-pressed and re-issued several times across all formats. The UK 1972 editions that carry this catalogue number include (this) the original Bronze first press, a copy on Island Records proper, and a Bronze re-issue (which has only slight label variations from the original first pressing.)

Vinyl: VG++ Lovely clean copy - obviously handled and played as you would expect. There are some superficial hairline surface marks but I've play-tested it in full and it sounds just great. There's some slight crackle to be heard on the run-ins and the dead-wax between the tracks, but nothing that interferes with the audio track. The album still retains a nice lustre and sheen. It comes on the standard Bronze evolutionary wheel design label with brown label-text and blue Island rim-text. First press features show the catalogue number punctuated by hyphens, not full stops, and the "Stereo" legend sits at the right side of the label. The labels are clean and free from scuffs, stains and blemishes with some signs of spindle-wear.
Sleeve: VG++ Super condition sleeve for an album into its fifth decade! Semi-gloss finished gatefold sleeve with the Roger Dean waterfall design cover. Inner gatefold carries a montage of studio session photographs and album credits. Print finishing is by Tinsley Robor group. The sleeve is structurally in great condition. No splits or tears, the edges remain crisp and the spine is nice and solid with legible and clear spine-text. There is some very light corner and ring-wear evident. Sadly, the glossy inner sleeve is not present and this is obviously reflected in the asking price.
It's a great condition and great sounding copy of a rare first pressing. Genuine collector's item and recognised by Record Collector's RRPG.
There are similar condition copies on here being advertised for prices approaching three figures and beyond. Well good luck if they achieve them, but I'm much more realistic and I'd like to think I offer decent items at VFM prices. To be clear, this copy does not have the inner sleeve but it's still a sought-after edition.
Realistic start price and no hidden reserves. I'm happy to ship anywhere and as always, I offer a full, no-quibble money-back guarantee if any winning bidder not satisfied.
Shipping will include full tracking and insurance at my expense, and postage discounts are available when combined with other items from current listings.
Thanks for looking.
