Description

Here’s an previously unknown artifact of Presleyana: a four song musical demo by Elvis’ early 1960’s girlfriend Bonnie Bunkley. Bunkley was a Memphis native who met Elvis in April 1960 when she visited Graceland while still in high school. Evidently, Elvis dated Bunkley either while he was also dating Anita Wood, or intermittently when he and Wood were on the outs. Bunkley is remembered as a footnote in the Elvis saga, but I have never seen a reference to her as a performer in her own right. This demo, which was recorded around ’64 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, is highly produced pop with surprisingly fluid vocals. It’s in excellent condition with excellent playback on all four tracks.
