Description
Here is an undocumented LP by the flautist and arranger Mario Darpino entitled Spectrum, containing music from the the 1973 cartoon TV special B.C. The First Thanksgiving, based on the comic strip by Johnny Hart. I suspect it is one of just a few that were pressed for Darpino’s private use, or as a gift for people who worked on the TV special. The LP cover is adorned with a one-of-a-kind hand-drawn and autographed sketch by Johnny Hart himself. The music is all instrumental and is mostly jazz-funk that occasionally veers into psychedelia. The disc is in VG+ condition with a couple of dull spots in the gloss (pressing flaw) that only cause a barely noticeable background hiss in a couple of spots. The handmade cover is VG to VG+ with a couple of discreet seam splits. The audio clips below comes directly from this disc:
