The Units - Digital Stimulation 1980 vinyl lp on 415 Records.
It's a rare opportunity to purchase this historic record and support a good cause, all at the same time.
Possibly the 1st “synthpunk” album ever, Digital Stimulation was the first New Wave album released on Howie Klein’s 415 records, considered to be the first North American record label devoted to New Wave music (Wikipedia).
In 2011 alone, 9 of the 11 songs on this album were remixed/reworked and released on vinyl, cd or digital, by over 40 DJs, bands and producers from over a dozen countries.
This record comes direct from 415 Label boss, Howie Klein, still sealed in its original shrinkwrap!!! As you can see from the photos, the record is in mint condition with the exception of a small crease in the upper left corner (see photo). Along with the album you will receive some of the promotional material that 415 Records used to promote it in 1980, including photocopies of a promo sheet and a letter to a DJ, as well as band photos by Chester Simpson (on photo paper). I’m also throwing in an original, hand colored flyer from a gig The Units did with Tuxedomoon and Pink Section, at the Mabuhay in SF, from 1979.
Best of all, you will get a thank you note that is signed by The Units founding members, Scott Ryser and Rachel Webber, along with 415 Records, Howie Klein.
100% of the proceeds from this purchase will be contributed to the election campaign of progressive Democrat, Alan Grayson, via the “Act Blue America” web site. For any of you that missed it, Alan Grayson was the first politician that I’ve heard volunteer to be a spokesman in support of Occupy Wall Street.
