Description
Gary Wright : Over You Now
Very rare original and unique one sided Mono UK Apple Records acetate.
YEAR: 1970
COUNTRY: UK
LABEL: Apple
CATALOGUE NUMBER: --
ADDITIONAL INFO: Original 1970 UK Apple Corpo mono acetate 7".
One sided acetate with 'Apple Corpo Ltd, 3 Savile Row, London, W1 Custom Recording' label with typed "Over You Now" - Gary Wright - Mono.
This track, presumably in stereo, was released on A&M Records in February 1971, so this acetate recording more than likely dates late 1970?.
Acetates were unique studio takes recorded on metal discs with a thin vinyl covering, some of these will be different takes to the actual release. The eventual release of Over You Now times in at 3 minutes 43 seconds, this mono acetate runs to 3 minutes 33 seconds.
Gary Wright was close friends at the time with George Harrison, and actually featured on some of George's (and Ringo Starr's) early 1970s Apple recordings.
SOUND FILE

GRADING
Please read carefully before bidding.
RECORD (Visually): VG
1960/70s ones also have a tendency to corode due to the metal under the thin vinyl layer. This one shows no signs of corrosion.
It does have the usual dull matt finish of an acetate, with no obvious flaws.
It plays through well, there is the expected light minimal background noise, though the music overpowers it. There are no jumps and skips.
There might be scope to clean up the recording either manually or digitally.
Please listen to actual record below before considering bidding.
The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine system:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has obviously been over played, and will probably display deterioration in sound quality, it will probably have lots of fine lines and the odd scratch. Wear and tear on the cover or extra items.
Records shipped in dedicated record mailer with two stiffeners.
