URIAH HEEP - SALISBURY
A truly excellent plus copy of this 1971 UK 1st press prog gem on the highly collectable large Vertigo swirl label, with stunning audio quality throughout

The thick, weighty, flat and gleaming vinyl is in superb excellent plus condition (I'm sure that many would grade as "near mint") having retained it's original gorgeous jet black sheen. In normal daylight both sides of the vinyl come across as perfect, and even with close scrutiny under a bright light the condition of the vinyl remains hard to fault. If you look very, very closely you may just be able to make out a couple of extremely faint paper scuff lines, but that's it! Clearly this record has been played very sparingly, probably only a few times. Pristine labels - completely unmarked apart from just a couple of small and extremely light spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. The non-laminated outer gatefold sleeve remains eminently presentable and is in excellent condition with firm, largely unscuffed edges (just a 1.5cm light scuff on each of the top edges, and a few sporadic light scuff marks on the bottom edges), near perfect right angled corners with just a little rubbing on each, and some mild ring wear/very light abrasions on both the front and reverse side towards the bottom (or side (dependent upon which way the cover is oriented) edge (see photos). The art work/colours/text all remain beautifully intact, there is no cardboard creasing, and the inside of the gatefold remains in truly excellent plus condition. Stunning audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, clicks or background interference/crackle - tremendous tone and clarity throughout, even at higher volume and frequencies. Superb audio quality!! Comes with original and excellent plus condition poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve, correctly dated and with no splits, tears, edge fraying or creasing and just the hint of some very mild age discolouration towards the edges (back and front). The reverse side has the infamous "IPSWICH MUSIC CENTRE" shop stamp in the top right corner where this record was originally bought some 51 years ago...unbelievable!!
A rare (especially in condition as truly impressive as this) and sought after 1971 UK 1st press prog rock gem...timeless rock and an absolute "must" for any serious vinyl rock collection.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :
Mint The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Fair The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing
Bad The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
