UNIAO BLACK Lp by UNIAO BLACK produced by RONALDO CORREA. Original Brazilian promo pressing on POLYDOR label (2451 097), from 1977. Killer Brazilian rare groove grail. This is the desirable 1st pressing and important example of the funkiest sounds from '70s Rio De Janeiro. This obscure group were part of the infamous Black Rio movement and also the backing band of Gerson Cortes aka Gerson King Combo on his debut Lp ;) A fabulous mix of funk / soul and disco (Brazilian style ;) with early Kool And The Gang cum James Brown influenced horn section and soulful voices. Our soundclip opens with the delirious jazz funk and B-boy breaks of A FAMILIA BLACK followed by BLACK RIO comped on Black Rio - Brazil Soul Power 1971-1980 for the UK Strut label / the Brazilian B-boy anthem A VIDA comped on Baile Funk 2 - Agora e Moda and the funky beats / infectious hooks and vocal soul of GERACAO BLACK too. Other important themes we recorded include the 7min French influenced afro boogie masterpiece VOULEZ VOUS with bump 'n' hustle bassline / clavinet / hissing disco hi hats / fuzz guitars and scat harmony ;) / the Mighty Ryeders sounding UNIAO BLACK / the heavy Brazilian funk of ABELHA AFRICANA and LACO NEGRO theme that finishes our soundclip. Great for DJs (a big favourite of DJ Muro) with music that will also appeal to lovers of Miguel De Deus Black Soul Brothers / Tony Tornado / Banda Black Rio et al. Striking sleeve artwork showing this insane looking, afro-centric group :) Never really shows up for sale in Europe. Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition overall with hairlines and faint scuffs. Surface noises in places. Tiny scratch causes some ticks to the last fading seconds of "A Vida" theme. Some soft pops / soft ticks elsewhere (as you can hear on our soundclip). The soft card sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with general wear from storage. Corner and edge wear / ring creasing and ring dirt marks. Some pen notations beside track listing on back sleeve. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Very rare Lp!!!
