Description

ZAPPA / MOTHERS - WE’RE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY - VERVE V-5045 - UNEDITED MONO YELLOW LABEL PROMO - 1968

Unbanded, mono, Verve promo; yellow label "Disc Jockey Record NOT FOR SALE"; original gatefold sleeve, with cut-outs insert

VERVE V-5045, 12”, 18-track album; released in 1968

Contains the lines in "Mother People" that were later edited out: "Better look around before you say you don't care, / Shut your fuckin' mouth about the length of my hair, / How would you survive / If you were alive, / shitty little person?" As well as this one from "Let's Make the Water Turn Black": "And I still remember Mama with her apron and her pad / Feeding all the boys at Ed's Cafe"

Vinyl is Very Good; fairly glossy, but also with a fair amount of scuffing / very light scratches that do not interfere with play.

Cover is Very Good; shows general shelf and ring wear on both front and back, as well as light wear on all corners; both top corners have 1/4” bumps, back left rear has 1/2" bump; inside gatefold is fairly clean; no holes/cuts, tears, splits, writing, or stains;
please see enlarged view of pictures

Cut-outs insert is a conservative Very Good Plus, with 2 of 4 corners having very small bumps; top left corner shows tiny amount of wear; left edge shows a few very small signs of wear, with the uppermost being slightly bubbled

I have many years of experience at buying/selling/trading records and music memorabilia. Though I may be a relatively new eBay seller, I have already had some excellent feedback:

“Great seller! Fast shipping, nice thick packaging, LP just as described. Thanks!”
“Great service, and item matched listing. Highly recommended.”
“Fantastic Seller! Super fast shipping! Best packaging I have ever seen!”
“Great seller! Quick, easy transaction. Record is in great shape!”

Bid with confidence!

This, and all listings to follow, will be drawn from my personal collection of 40+ years. Look for more hard to come by pieces in the future!
