Description
Uncle Dave Macon and His Fruit Jar Drinkers 78 rpm record of "The Rabbit in the Pea Patch" and "Sleepy Lou" on Vocalion label (#5156). Both are lively old-time banjo tunes by a pioneer of country music in the 1920s. Excellent condition. Record is shiny with only light scuffs and scratches. Sounds great with just normal background hiss.
This record is sold with NO RESERVE and low starting price.
Please see my other auctions this week for more old-time fiddle/banjo records by Uncle Dave Macon and Uncle Am Stuart.
I will combine shipping charges if you purchase more than one record. I will only charge for first record; others are free shipping. If buying more than one record, please wait for me to send a combined invoice before paying.
On Aug-30-15 at 07:37:38 PDT, seller added the following information:* An eBayer asked about what appeared to be some groove wear in the photo of the Sleepy Lou side. I examined this closely and then played it again to see what was happening in those parts of the record. This song is mostly instrumental, but in certain parts, Uncle Dave loudly yells out a few words, like a square-dance caller. That accounts for those particular grooves looking different in the photo. Light background hiss is consistent throughout the record, so it is not groove wear as far as I can tell.
