Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. IT'S A TOP RANK GARAGE ROCK ALBUM... a little known fact, in '66 Don & The Goodtimes won the Pacific Northwest BATTLE OF THE BANDS knocking out the legendary SONICS, WAILERS and all the other local talents of the day....
This is an excellent 1966 Pacific Northwestern locally released album from the often underestimated Don & the Goodtimes who hailed from Portland, Oregon. The band includes guitarist Jim "Harpo" Valley and Charlie Coe, bassist later became members of Paul Revere and the Raiders as well as Don Galluci who went on to prog/psych band "Touch" as well as produced the Stooges "Funhouse" album in 1970 ...
This album is of particular interest being that its primarily focus is on the groups peak period when they were unvarnished garage rockers, wow-ing club goers and winning heated battle of the bands contests... The group did evolve into something more sophisticated by the time they charted two minor hits for Epic Records in 1967, "I Could Be So Good to You" and "Happy and Me." Comparisons to the Kingsmen, Sonics & Wailers are apt because Don Gallucci and Jack Ely had both been members of the famous of garage rock band The Kingsmen when they unleashed the legendary "Louie Louie". That isn't the end of their credentials: Don & The Goodtimes member Charlie Coe spent a few years in Paul Revere & the Raiders, as well as the Kingsmen...
The Standells' covered Don & the Goodtimes' song "Little Sally Tease" - a cool garage punker that leads this album off... Overall the album concentrates on the group's early garage sounds, which includes "Blue Turns To Grey" also found on the Rolling Stones album "Decembers Children". plus more raw, primitive early band recordings that is topped off by one of the best songs on the album, "I Hate To Hate You," which wasn't even included on the Sundazed CD anthology...and not to forget the highly infectious groover "Colors Of Life" ...
