Description
PLEASE TAKE TIME TO CAREFULLY READ THE DESCRIPTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, THANK YOU!
35% of my rare albums have been shipped to the following countries: AUSTRALIA, AUSTRIA, CANADA, DENMARK, ENGLAND, FRANCE, GERMANY, ISRAEL, ITALY, JAPAN, NETHERLANDS, SPAIN and SWEDEN, with the remaining 65% in the UNITED STATES.
Most of the albums you will be viewing are from my 50+ year old collection and are original issues. Sometimes I include albums given to me or purchased from friends or relatives. I do not go to swap meets, garage sales, or thrift stores. I do go to record conventions as time permits. You will be bidding for very rare, original issue and quality albums. Sometime I will list rare re-issues or later pressings. They will be stated as (re) in the listing. I use Goldmine Standard Catalog as a grading guideline and tend to get conservative.
All records are played through prior to listing for accurate grading.
GRADING GUIDELINES!(NM or NM-) NM records are shiny with no visible defects such as writing, stickers or spindle marks on the labels. The album cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any signs of human handling. It also will have no ring wear.
(VG+) or (Excellent) May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK. The cover might be marred by a cutout marking, small hole punch, a cut in the spine or a promotional stamp and even a tiny bit of ring wear.
(VG) Will have more obvious flaws such as lack of gloss, groove wear, light scratches and needle marks. When played there will be surface noise that will not overpower the music overall. Noise in the passages, between songs is common. The cover may have minor seam splits, writing, tape, stickers, ring wear and scuffs.
(VG-) Just a compounding of the VG category. Many obvious flaws but if the record is rare, may very well be worthwhile. I do not list record lower the above grades.
Remember, when you are bidding, most of these records are usually 50+ years old and have been out of print for a very long time. When you consider that, damage, loss, and normal use or wear has reduced the market to the point that few of these wonderful treasures are even available today.
I ship worldwide and accept Paypal, Cashier's check, or personal check. My auctions usually close Saturday or Sunday and I ship the next day (Monday morning) with a delivery confirmation or Customs Declaration. If you are not getting your albums within a few days, check with your post
office.

FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION; In my personal collection for many many years, you are bidding for one of the rarest Rhythm and Blues albums I own, an original Crazy Little Mama and recorded in 1960 by the El Dorados on the Vee Jay label VJLP-1001. This is the maroon label with silver print with the thin line and values for $400+ NM in the goldmine Price Guide. This is a pristine album! The original group consisted of Pirkle Lees Moses Jr., Louis Bradley, James Maddox, Jewel Jones and Richard Nickens. The thick album cover is close to 50 years old and is stunning. There are no seam splits, ring wear, tape, writing, discoloration, tears or wrinkles and few small scuffs in the corners. A superb display for the serious R&B collector. The liner notes with detailed information about the El Dorados is very nice and photos are excellent with just a small scuff in the lower left corner. The rich, shiny record has maintained its lustre and the maroon labels are clean, showing only very light spindle marks from minimal use. The record was inspected under a 100 watt light and there were no feelable scratches, scuffs or grooves, just a few very light surface scratches/paper cuts that did not impact or affect a genuine, near mint listening experience. The songs include, with two songs sung by the Magnificents; Side 1, At My Front Door (Crazy Little Mama), Now That You've Gone, Rock 'N Rolls for Me, A Fallen Tear, Up On The Mountain (Magnificents), There In The Night. Side 2, I'll Be Loving You Forever, My Loving Baby, Annie's Answer, I Began To Realize, Caddy BO (Magnificents), Baby I Need You. This is truly a legendary and most desireable album and recorded by a group who rocked the R&B world in 1955 with their blockbuster hit, Crazy Little Mama. The world hasn't been the same since, THANKS TO THE EL DORADOS!!!! Based on the Goldmine Guide, the album is graded NM-, the quality of the listening experience NM and the record VG++. There is no reserve. Just a thought, I sincerely believe this album will be best suited for the collector who is a serious 50's Rhythm and Blues enthusiast.
