Out of Our Heads
released 1965 by London Records # LL.3429
mono UK original ffrr Deep Groove pressing on
heavy vinyl with dark red / maroon labels that have
silver printing & "boxed" slanted London ffrr "full
frequency range recording" logos (known as an UK
'Ridged' Export Copy) & has UK mastering stampers
(listed below) & the label's perimeter print reads at
the top "Made In England" and below "All Rights Of The
Manufacturer And Of The Owner Of The Recorded Work
Reserved - Unauthorised Public Performance Broadcasting
And Copying Of This Record Prohibited" and the labels
each also have a US patent blurb above the logo that
reads "Trademarks Reg U.S. Pat. Off" and this copy
has its orig'l London ffrr poly lined inner sleeve
and the cover has no mention of US on it & this copy
also has a -1A Mastering Stamper which is almost
always an indication of being a true 1st pressing
our research has also revealed that this type
of label was never used in the UK so this was an
obscure one-off pressing likely rushed to capitalize
on the sudden interest in British groups like the
Stones and the Beatles until it could be properly
pressed & released in the US and worldwide
this is a very rare pressing of this classic
because these were the few first copies of this
album that you could buy in the USA and because
of its rarity copies like this have sold for big $$$
with this version of Out Of Our Heads listing
for the highest prices of all versions in guides
this copy is in nice shiny & clean condition
and this particular mono Stones release sounds
better than most we've ever heard with a really
big warm full tone and lots of clarity
~ important ~
this lp is included in many all-time best lists
and is # 114 in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of
the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time making it a
very important album worthy of any collection
for its musical and historical contributions

~ condition ~
record is in Very Good +* Condition and has
been fully play tested and it sounds great and
plays fully through without any skips, repeats or
bad noise & has almost no crackle but a little during
the quietest spots (there is one area* on side two
where there is a visible scratch that causes some
very soft tics in places during two songs) & the
vinyl is otherwise extremely shiny & clean with only
very light visible wear (except for the previously
mentioned scratch) & has bright clean labels with
just some light wear around the spindle hole
cover is in Very Good ++ Condition with bold
bright printing & has no seam splits, writing or
markings but does have some light edge/corner
wear and also has a small soiled spot at the top of
the back cover (very small spot) & there's a pair
of small staple holes at the upper-left corner
from how Lp price tags used to be affixed
displays & plays nicely

the above is 'stamped' into the dead wax
~ review ~
in 1965 the Stones finally proved themselves
capable of writing classic rock singles that mined
their R&B/blues roots, but updated them into a
more guitar-based contemporary context & the first
enduring Jagger-Richards classics are here including
"The Last Time" & its menacing folky B-side classic
"Play With Fire" & the riff-driven "Satisfaction" which
made them superstars in the States and defined their
sound & rebellious attitude better than any other single
song & on the rest of the album they largely opted for
mid-'60s soul covers like Marvin Gaye's "Hitch Hike"
Otis Redding's "Cry to Me" & Sam Cooke's "Good Times"
and then "I'm All Right" (based on a Bo Diddley sound)
showed their '65 sound at its rawest & there're also a
couple of fun bluesy originals in "The Spider and the Fly"
and "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man"
