Description

RCA Victrola Stereo VICS 1066, first maroon label disc, pressed in England by Decca.  Stampers are 1K 1K.  Laminated jacket.  Recorded in England by Decca, issued in the US in the deluxe Soria Series LDS 6065. 

Ballet Favourites, with Ernest Ansermet and the Royal Opera House Orchestra, Covent Garden.  Excerpts from Tchaikovsky, The Nutcracker, Schumann, Carnaval, Delibes, Coppelia, and Adam, Giselle.  See pics for program details.

This is two of the four sides from perhaps the most sought-after of all the Living Stereo recordings, LDS 6065, A Royal Ballet Gala.  This is the only Decca issue of this incredible recording, with sound that rivals that of the extremely expensive original.  In my opinion, the Coppelia/Giselle side is the best side of the original issue.  Not to be missed.
