Rare opportunity to obtain an extremely rare UK original 1st pressing of PARLIAMENT - OSMIUM! INVICTUS. SVT 1004. (1970) Front laminated flipback G&L sleeve.
UK copies rarely surface, and even more unusual, is that this copy grades a full EX+ to Near Mint grading. Side 2 Invictus picture label has Factory press sticker.
Fantastic, psychedelic soul funk debut from George Clinton, Ruth Copeland and the early P-Funk crew.
UK Osmium's, when they do surface, tend to be sold within collectors circles. This is one reason you don't see them publicly offered on eBay. Sometimes dealers and collectors buy/trade and sell on other platforms, like discogs or similar. I've seen a couple on offer at record fairs, but they were priced a lot higher. Do not underestimate how much of a scarcity this is. Certainly one of the hardest to find of UK pressings!
Glossy front laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.' flipback sleeve has a few very light finger or pinch creases noticeable on the laminate, but really nothing bad at all. Slight darkening to the rear of the sleeve. Usual grubby looking bits on the flip-backs, where the laminate wraps around and finishes. Grades at least EX condition.
Vinyl is superb condition. Playback is clear, crisp and full of tone and warmth. No nasty background noise at all. Grades EX+/NEAR MINT.
Blue INVICTUS picture labels are free from damage or wear. (Factory sticker on Side 2). Grade: EX+/Near Mint. Original stamped/coded plain thick paper inner bag included.
