Hello and welcome to one of my vinyl records auctions!!
VERY RARE ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING of this DECCA STEREO BOX SET (three discs with booklet inside box).
WAGNER - DAS RHEINGOLD.
DECCA SXL 2101, 2102, 2103.
UNBOXED BLACK & SILVER DECCA LOGOS with ''ORIGINAL RECORDING'' text around the top of the GROOVED labels.
LONDON / FLAGSTAD / SVANHOLM / NEIDLINGER.
VIENNA PHILHARMONIC / GEORG SOLTI.
Matrix numbers machine stamped in run-off area on each side are as follows:
ZAL-4260-1E / ZAL-4265-1E / ZAL-4261-1E / ZAL-4264-1E / ZAL-4262-1E / ZAL-4263-1E.
RECORDS = At least EXCELLENT (generally NEAR MINT) throughout and the whole set is fascinating to listen to.
LABELS = EXCELLENT CONDITION.
INNER SLEEVES = EXCELLENT CONDITION, all original Decca Stereo inner sleeves of the period.
BOOKLET = EXCELLENT CONDITION with only tiny amounts of foxing on the front, otherwise very much like new. A very informative and attractive document.
BOX = EXCELLENT CONDITION with one knock to the top right corner, otherwise negligible signs of age and use.
THIS SET IS MARVELLOUS THROUGHOUT AND SUPERB FOR AN ARTEFACT THAT IS WELL OVER 50 YEARS OLD.
