Description
This was one of the last titles released in UHQR format by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in 1982. Only 2 Classical Lps were selected for this category: 'The Planets' by Gustav Holst and 'The Pines of Rome'/Feste Romane by Ottorino Respighi . The sound, the detail (especially in the strings) with an almost three dimensional soundscape is truly unbelievable. This 1977 Decca recording has long been considered one of the finest interpretations of these highly regarded Respighi compositions. In addition, it was chosen by TAS as a reference recording and one listen will tell you why.
