HOLST

THE PLANETS

Sir Georg Solti, London Philharmonic Orchestra

From my own collection, a copy of the much sought after UHQR LP (MFQR 1-510), Holst The Planets in excellent condition, serial number is 4576 of only 5000. I have listened and looked at this record very carefully and the following is a very critical summary, I am always very critical when buying or selling LP's, this LP has been played using an Ortofon Kontrapunkt B cartridge on a Michell Orbe:

Box: Near Mint

Inner Sleeve: Near Mint

LP Holder Card: Near Mint

Technical Spec Manual: Near Mint

UHQR Certificate: Very Good, 2 corners removed

Record: Excellent

Side 1: Very light surface noise at start of Mars, and occasional very light surface noise in the first part of Venus. Thats it for side 1, the rest is near perfect.

Side 2: A little surface noise at the start of Saturn, and a couple of very light pops half way through. The run in to Uranus has some surface noise and thats it!

I have listened through this record, and it easily falls in the Record Collectors Guide for Excellent, it still has it's "like new sheen" and has had very little play, the frequency ranges are truly exceptional, especially the bass in Saturn. The LP labels are clean and free of spindle marks and all of the packaging is Near Mint with the exception of the UHQR certificate which has 2 corners removed... A very fine copy of the best quality vinyl available.
