Up for auction is a Mint copy of The Alan Parsons Project - I ROBOT.
This is an Ultra High Quality Record that was pressed in Japan on 200 grams of High Definition Super Vinyl in April of 1983. It is number 3357 out of a total of 5000 pressed.
As you can see in the photos, the box is in great shape. It shows only the slightest shelf wear. There is one blemish on the front of the box in the silver area at the top. Please see the photo. I will therefore grade the box as Near Mint Minus.
The inner sleeve has one minor 1.5" seam split. I will also grade the inner sleeve as Near Mint Minus.
The certificate of authenticity is in Near Mint condition. This is the only insert that came with this copy. I am guessing that MFSL was trying to cut back a little by 1983 and therefore there is no "technical specifications" sheet, or pocket in which to keep it.
The vinyl itself is PLAY GRADED as MINT. I just listened to this album in its entirety as I recorded it digitally. It is without a doubt, one of the cleanest pieces of vinyl I have ever owned. Just take a look at the photos of the vinyl, it is like a mirror!
There were only a handful (less than five) of the slightest ticks scattered about the record. When I say slight, I mean slight, because I monitor the recording process through my Sennheiser HD-650 headphones at a fairly loud volume level. So if they were slight during my listening experience, you may not even notice them. But I do mention them in the interest of full disclosure.
Record has been cleaned on a VPI record cleaning machine, with Disc Doctor Miracle record cleaner, then rinsed with distilled water. Then cleaned with LAST Extra Strength record cleaner then finally treated with LAST record preservative. I will also include an outer sleeve to protect the box from any possible shelf wear.
Since it has been play graded as mint, there will be no surprises for the lucky winner.
To me, this is a much better than purchasing a sealed copy. I have taken the "unknowns" out of the equation.
I can't tell you how many sealed copies of records I have purchased over the years, only to discover that they had defects in them.
This one is about as close to perfect as you can get.
I accept Paypal only. Please ask any questions before bidding. I will not accept a return on this item as I feel I have accurately and honestly described the record so there should be no surprises for the winning bidder. But rest assured that I am a long time (15 yrs) seller on ebay with 100% feedback.
I know how to pack records securely, so there will be no more split seams in transit.
Thanks for looking and Good Luck!
