Description

Rare Irish 7-inch single pressed on yellow vinyl. It is in excellent VG+ vinyl condition with a VG sleeve.

Confirmation (Runout codes): The definitive runouts are Side A: CBSU2 IRL CBS 8306A-1 and Side B: CBSU2 IRL CBS 8306B-1.

Notes: The IRL (Ireland) and the −1 stamper codes on both sides indicate this is a true, earliest-stamper Irish first pressing. The yellow vinyl variant is essential for U2 completionists and commands a high price.

The vinyl is in beautiful VG+ condition but is housed in a generic sleeve. I bought this single as-is in 1985. It is missing its original picture sleeve, which suggests two possibilities: Either it is one of the very first commercial pressings from the 1980 run where the original picture sleeve was either discarded or lost in transit/retail over time; or it was a test market / promo factory-sourced copy, pulled early from the line and distributed in a plain sleeve for promotional or test market purposes.
