U2 "The Joshua Tree" LP Island 90581-1
1st 1987 US (Allied Record Company) pressing.
U2's iconic fifth studio album, winner of the Grammy Award for "Album Of The Year".
Produced by the legendary Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois.
A Direct Metal Mastered (DMM) pressing, the vintage of this LP is verified by the matrix numbers hand etched in the dead wax:
Side One: ST-IL 876295-A DMM MASTERDISK 2-2
Side Two: ST-IL 876296-A DMM 2-1 MASTERDISK
Wax both looks and plays "like new", with ONE NOTABLE EXCEPTION:
a record pressing plant manufacturing defect (undetectable to my eye) yields a "screech" sound audible during the opening 20-25 seconds (10-12 revolutions) of Track 1 on Side 1.

The manufacturing flaw in the wax detailed above accounts for the low $4.99 opening bid for this iconic collectible, complete with insert and otherwise in "like new" condition.

Beautiful, clean gatefold jacket is essentially flawless, looks LIKE NEW, inside and out.
Jacket front, back and inside B&W photos and text are clear and sharp.
Solid seams and spine. No splits. Spine print is crystal clear.
Includes original custom 11.5 x 23 inch (folded) insert ... with a photo of the band on one side, lyrics and credits on the other. Looks LIKE NEW.
