Here we have the ultimate U2 vinyl rarity: "THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE" on RED VINYL from SWEDEN.

This is the only copy we have heard of ever up for sale, and this might be your only chance to obtain this holy grain of U2 records. Rumoured to have been made in only 5 copies, but up to fifteen according to some.

There are a few different colored U2 vinyls from Sweden, Joshua Tree on blue vinyl, War on red vinyl (15 copies made according to www.u2station.com) etc. From what i have heard from swedish record dealers the red Unforgettable Fire is supposed to be the rarest of them all, but since it was never commercially released on red vinyl it is unclear how many copies that were printed. The only reason that the swedish colored vinyls exist is that the staff at the pressing plant decided to make a few colored vinyls for themselves and perhaps for some friends, they were never supposed to be commercially sold or distributed as promotional items.

The cover has the SIB-TRYCK AB NORSBORG on back (wich means printed outside
of Stockholm). It has catalogue number U2 5 and is in NEAR MINT-.

The original inner sleeve also has SIB-TRYCK AB NORSBORG on back, is in near
mint condition.

The labels has NCB printed (wich means scandinavian countrys, and in this
case Sweden) Catalogue numbers U2 5-A / U2 5-B. The labels are in excellent
to near mint condition.

The red vinyl has on side A inscribed in the run out groove "GP-2" , "BA-TC"
(though i am not completely sure if it´s an C..." and machine printed "U 2 5 - A".

Side B has "GP-2" , "BA-TO" , "U 2 - 5 - B2".

The vinyl has a couple of ultra light superficial marks and is in Excellent
plus or even near mint condition.

MATRIX UPDATE! Many have asked about the matrix numbers / inscriptions in the run out groove, we have tried to scan / take photos but it´s impossible to make it out on the red vinyl, so here´s a closer description:

I have compared the RED vinyls run out groove to the standard swedish BLACK vinyl. The match EXACTLY apart from that the RED vinyl has "GP-2" (hand written) on both sides. There is no "GP-2" on the BLACK vinyl. I figure it was only added to the very few RED vinyl copies.

Apart from that they match exactly, and it was a lot easier to make out the letters on the BLACK copy:

SIDE A: MACHINE PRINTED "U 2 - 5 A" , by hand "BA-TX" (believe it´s an "X", found something that indicates that on the B side).

SIDE B: "BA-TO" , "U 2 - 5 - B2". I also found something that i first didn´t see on the RED vinyl, but after seeing it in the BLACK copy i checked again and it was of course there: A very small hand written inscription: first there is something that i really can´t make out if it´s "RAIR" or "RA12" or "RMR" or something like that. It also has a small star over it. Then follows "T.X. 850617". The most important thing is that the RED and BLACK vinyls MATCH EXACTLY, apart from that "GP-2" thing...

So it is NOT a bootleg, it is NOT a reissue, it is a 100% GENUINE ORIGINAL ULTRA RARE RED VINYL COPY!
