U2 frontman Bono once said of the band's follow-up to debut LP Boy: “Can you imagine your second album – the difficult second album – is about God?” Well, that's what they delivered with their sophomore album October and while musically speaking it presents a gradual progression from the raw power of their debut, the lofty ambitions and grand lyrical concepts that would see them grow into one of the biggest bands in the world are already evident, especially on the title track and the album's rip-roaring opener 'Gloria'.
