U2 ACHTUNG BABY USA BOX SET 4 X LP Bonus Remixes BLUE VINYL etc
U2, Achtung Baby.
2011 20th Anniversary USA vinyl box set edition, Universal/Mercury/Interscope 6 02527788272.
A Limited Edition four 12" vinyl set which includes the original album on two heavyweight black vinyl LPs plus a bonus of remixes on two blue vinyl 12"s.
The LP set is housed in individual picture sleeves, and an external picture sleeve. The 12"s are both housed in internal and external picture sleeves.
Also includes a full colour booklet insert.
Condition:On the whole a very well preserved set, and still very bright and clean. Would grade as a solid EX, but a few small issues with the vinyl prevent this grade. All of the vinyl is very bright and glossy and the set has clearly been little played and mostly carefully handled. There are a couple of small surface scuffs to one side of the blue vinyl remixes, but these are superficial and else the two remix 12"s are near mint with near mint playback.
There are a very few light scuff marks and small gentle scratches to the first LP in the double LP set, but it must be emphasised that the surfaces are overall still very glossy and new looking. I have graded this LP by playback.
Side one has a hint of low level crackle at the very beginning of the side. This is very short lived and minor. There are a few very gentle ticks at the beginning of track three, again very short lived and unobtrusive.
Side two exhibits a very few soft to mid-level ticks at the very beginning of the side, which peter out as the vocal kicks in. Else playback is near mint on this LP and the second LP in the set.
All sleeves are in near mint condition and free of creasing or seam splits.
Booklet is near mint.
Outer box is clean and bright and free of loss, tears, scrapes or marks. The seams are all split at the corners of the bottom of the box however. All of these splits are neat and tidy and do not extend further outward. There is a very slight ding to the bottom rear corner of the box. Else all the seams are clean and free of rubbing or scuffing.
In summary not a mint set, but a very well preserved set which is still bright and clean and with just a few minor faults.
