Description
This is the original 1971 UK pressing of “Tudor Lodge” on the Vertigo “spiral” label. (Number 043). This record is from my own personal collection, and was purchased new in 1971. Since then it has been played only a few times, and has been carefully stored with the rest of my collection.
This item is incredibly rare, and is in fantastic condition.
Record: Definitely EX to EX+. There are a few spindle marks around the hole, and side A has a couple of tiny surface scratches, which are not audible.
Sound Quality: The record plays superbly on all tracks, with no noticeable surface noise.
Inner sleeve: Original “swirl” design. Bears the original British patent numbers and the legend “Made in England 25 0671”. The inner sleeve is intact, but the edges of the paper have browned a little with age. The inner plastic lining is complete and intact.
Outer sleeve: This is the amazing multi-fold six-panel design. It is in fantastic condition considering its age and the fact that it was not laminated when it was issued. The edges are a little frayed, and there is a small tear (about ½” long) in the one corner.
Overall this is probably one of the best existing examples of this very rare, supremely collectible, piece of vinyl history.
