Tucky Buzzard - Coming On Again Side 1 mono acetate Emidisc 1970?
Tucky Buzzard were basically The End following the departure of Colin Giffin and they recorded several LPs under that name moving from a psych/prog sound to a harder rock direction with the heavy involvement of Bill Wyman from the Rolling Stones.
Easily their rarest and arguably their best was 'Coming On Again' recorded before their official US/Italy only debut (of which I also have an acetate for sale) and only eventually released in stereo in Spain in 1971 and Brazil in 1972. It is a fine mixture of late period psych moving into early prog and is the link between their End style psychedelia and Tucky Buzzard style prog/hard rock, making great use of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Madrid.
This is a UK Emidisc one sided 12" acetate containing the first side of Coming On Again, in mono, and there may be other differences in the mix too. The other side is blank and while it states 'Side 2' on the acetate and sleeve, it is actually what became side 1 of the released LP. Possibly pressed up for consideration of a UK release at the time, but we now know that didn't happen and this didn't see a release in the UK until it came out on CD in 2002. This is very likely the only copy of this acetate in existence.
Condition wise, this is an acetate and therefore prone to deterioration and damage. However, this looks pretty good with a nice surface and only a few superficial scuffs. It does play with odd bits of isolated noise as would be expected with even mint looking acetates from 50 years ago, but definitely no heavy repeating clicks, skips or jumps, and for an acetate this plays really well and was certainly well cut. I would grade as VG and you can judge for yourself and listen to the whole thing below:
