Description
TREVOR DANDY - 'DON'T CRY LITTLE TREE'
Trevor Dandy emigrated from Jamaica to Toronto in the 1960's. In 1970 he collaborated with young producer Paul J. Zaza and produced this LP with the aim of selling it privately to the congregation at his local church. However a disagreement between Dandy and Zazas led to most of the 2,000 copies of the album which were originally pressed being destroyed.
Since then the album has taken on legendary status and has become one of the most sought after and respected gospel/soul records of all time. The album's stand-out track, 'Is There Any Love', has been sampled many times over the past few years demonstrating this album's timeless influence & appeal.
This original Canadian 1st pressing (not a recent reissue) is on the purple 'ZP/Zaza Sound Productions' label: MN 1045

Both are clean & undamaged with a collection of light spindle trails to the side 2 centre hole mainly.
Visual/Audio: VERY GOOD +
Both playing surfaces are clean and glossy with just a couple of light, non-feelable surface marks in strong daylight but nothing we would call a scratch. Closer inspection beneath halogen light reveals some harmless paper scuffs from the inner & a sparking rainbow shine. Both sides lie 100% flat when playing.
Audio: VERY GOOD +
This great sounding disc has been little played and all tracks are free form any groove/playwear. Some light background is audible at the beginning of the opening tracks on both sides in one channel only which suggest a pressing issue rather than one of wear. However this soon disappears and both sides play beautifully. Our play-check detected 2 clicks on track 1 on side 1 and one more click on track 2 on side 2, but no further distractions or faults on this gem.
Cover: EXCELLENT
Aside from a minor bend to the lower left corner and a little debris beneath the shrink near the spine on the front, there is little to fault on this well-preserved example. All seams are fully intact and the spine is clean & fully worded.
