Description
This is an excellent vintage LP by Traffic on United Artists UAS 5504, entitled "John Barleycorn Must Die," from 1970.
"The joyous free jazz instrumental “Glad” opens the epic tale of John Barleycorn. “Freedom Rider” provides a touch of the old Traffic, incorporating a seductive flute. Steve Winwood then confesses to the “Empty Pages” of his song writing book. Winwood reemphasizes this with soulful honesty in “I Just Want You to Know”. The group’s jazzy shift leaves Winwood feeling like a “Stranger to Himself”. In a plea to keep his audience intact, Winwood shifts gears with “John Barleycorn”. But the self pity is cut short with the hectic beats of “Every Mothers Sun”. The Traffic that had been beloved by so many fans has finally come to an end. “Sittin’ Here Thinkin’ of My Love” is a fond farewell to what the sound used to be...There are some terrific jams on ‘John Barleycorn Must Die’... It doesn’t fail in capturing the feel of the early 70’s. It should definitely be featured in any classic rock catalogue..."

- Right now I am offering well over a hundred great psych, psych-folk, psych-soul, hippie, freakbeat, prog, fuzz, heavy, sunshine pop, blues, and soul LPs from a fantastic one-owner collection! The majority of these scarce albums look like they were bought yesterday instead of 35 to 40+ years ago! Many are still sealed, many more are rare white label promotional pressings, and all are NM to MINT unplayed condition! The original owner obviously acquired these just to collect them, not to play them. You'll want to buy as many from this collection as you can so you can get a savings on postage!
- Combined shipping is available -- in USA add just $1 for each additional LP, or better yet if you win eight or more of my LP auctions this week you pay only actual cost of shipping!
Same goes for international: less than eight auctions won add $2 USD per additional LP for Canada and Mexico and $3 USD per additional for all other international.
- Shipped quickly in new shipping cartons with cardboard padding and bubblewrap. Unsealed records and jackets are shipped side by side in new, recloseable, clear poly sleeves, to prevent jacket splits in transit. If you request it, I will double-carton your LPs for $1 extra.
