Up for sale is a VERY RARE Tool album from 1996,their 2nd full length album Aenima with such classic songs sch as Stinkfist & Forty six & 2,etc!
From online information I've looked up,this is the 2nd pressing of this Classic album from back in 1996.All 3 pressings,which were all done very close in time and date to each other,are basically all the same minus a few very minors details.The 1st & 3rd versions DO NOT have the BMG logo on the back bottom right part of the cover near where the BarCode is.This,the 2nd version,DOES have that BMG logo right next to the Zoo Entertainment Logo.Apparently the Barcode on this version is also slightly bigger and/or wider/taller according to online vinyl experts of this album.Pictured on the spine of the album at the bottom is a very faint spine # which I tried to show in one of the photos as well.Also the Album title Aenima on the side of the album cover is supposedly a little fainter on this version and not as sharp as the 1st version,but other than those differences the actual vinyl Lp's themselves are all exactly the same.
The two Lp's themselves I will rate them both at a Solid VG+ maybe between Vg+ & Vg++.Both albums have some minor surface scratches from being almost 25 years old but both vinyl Lp's play well.Both Lp's both play thru all the way without any serious issues or serious,loud pops that effect or ruin the listening experience of this album.At quiet times there are some minor light vinyl crackle but again that's to be expected from being almost 25 years old.The ONLY cleaning i've done for this album has been to use a super soft sponge that is very wrung out in water that is filtered and de-ionized and then using a super soft shamy to gently dry the album.These 2 Lp's could use a very nice,light professional cleaning.If you have a record store nearby that has a VPI or other professional vinyl cleaning machine or have something similar at home to make this album even cleaner,it would even more so enhance the vinyl listening experience of this album.As it plays right now it plays fine on my system.I have a basic 1978 Technics SL-B2 hooked up through a 2005 Harmon Kardon Receiver played through 2 DCM bookshelf & 2 DCM floor speakers with basic Home Depot cable wire.
The Cover I will rate again somewhere between Vg+/Vg++ because on the back part of the cover on the bottom right someone must've gently used a box set for something else and it must've very gently gone thru whatever was being cut and made a square imprint.Along with basically wear front and back from being almost 25 years old this cover is in decent shape.There are no serious rips,tears or hole punches anywhere on this cover.The 2 personalized inserts are in very nice shape,no serious rips from what I can see and they are still in very nice working condition.
